Tortuguero Canals and Wildlife Day Trip

See the Tortuguero canals by boat on this day trip from Puerto Viejo or Cahuita. Your knowledgeable bilingual guide will pick you up in a comfortable mini-van and we will first do a small city tour through Limon to learn about the Caribbean port city. Then we will take a boat to the Tortuguero canals where you can see a great variety of wildlife: birds, monkeys, sloths, reptiles and more are all possible.

The journey is part of the adventure

Your bilingual guide will pick you up at your hotel. This tour is also available in Spanish, German and French (please note in your comments on the tour if you would like a guide who speaks French or German). In a comfortable mini-van we will first do a small city tour through Limon to learn about the Caribbean port city. We will then continue north of Limon to where we transfer to a boat to explore the tortuguero canals.

Look out for animals!

There a motorboat you will take you on a safari through the mangroves looking for wildlife. Usually animals are quite easy to spot along the canal. You will see lots of birds, mammals like sloths and monkeys, reptiles like the emerald basilisk lizard and with a bit of luck you might even see a caiman (a smaller relative of the crocodile).

On the way back, you will drive by a banana plantation and you will learn more about this delicious tropical fruit.
