Hurricane Otto made landfall in Nicaragua at 12:07pm, just north of the Costa Rica border
Just rain so far in Puerto Viejo, the path may have avoided us but the north of the country will get it worse.Expect travel disruptions as many roads are closed. The main road to the Panama border at Sixaola is closed but alternate routes are open but boat travel to Bocas del Toro is currently suspended but should reopen soon. Route 32 has been reopened after a mudslide was cleared but is best avoided.
